Our Team

We are a tenacious team of experienced web warriors with a passion for solving complex problems. We are dedicated to delivering top-notch service and premium solutions through close collaboration with clients. Webtecs has worked side-by-side with local government for over sixteen years, consistently delivering innovative and secure solutions.

Tony Karsten

President

Tony has spent his entire professional career in the software industry. Starting as a developer turned architect turned manager he has been involved in all aspects of the software development lifecycle. He has managed both small teams in small companies to being responsible for one of the marquee products in a publicly traded company.

As a kid, Tony continually got in trouble for tearing apart the family computer trying to understand the magic behind it. This led to a passion for technology and how it can be used to help people in everyday life.

When he’s not working Tony can be found with his wife, Cara, shuttling his two boys around to sporting events, playing pickleball with friends in the neighborhood or on the golf course working on inappropriate words he can’t say at home.

Addie Guzman

Project Coordinator

With 20 years of experience in website design, development and content management, Addie brings a seasoned level of expertise to the team. Problem solving workflows and technical issues, enhancing user interfaces, or managing projects you can usually find Addie at her desk with 4 different cups of the same drink and an unseasonal space heater.

Addie has been at Webtecs for 13 years and has learned to adapt to an evolving platform all while advocating for best practices in government web design. She graduated from Michigan State University where, in 1996, she saw her first website at a campus job and was immediately unimpressed. Ironically, she has dedicated her career to making impressionable websites.

Elyssa Hobbs

Web Designer

Elyssa has been part of the Webtecs team since 2017, where she handles design projects & client communication and assists with technical support. She’s all about user-centered design and creating online environments that feel natural and intuitive.

Elyssa has been dabbling in the world of design her entire life, always tinkering with whatever design software and art supplies she can get her hands on. She studied Marketing & Economics at Grand Valley State University as well as Business Administration at Northwestern Michigan College. Besides being a voracious reader, she can be found exploring outdoors, making art, and getting into shenanigans.

Danielle Kinney

Senior Software Developer

Danielle has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management Information Systems. She has 22 years of experience working in the software industry.  She is passionate about helping the public gain access to government services using the convenience of online solutions. Her favorite part about working at Webtecs is working as a team to solve complex problems and deliver robust applications.

On the weekends, you can find Danielle walking the sidelines while watching her kids play either soccer, basketball or run cross country. She will probably tell you she is just getting her “steps in” but really it is the competitive itch. If she’s not watching sports, she likes to take her dog Jet on hikes while listening to Dave Matthews

Beth Hadley

Senior Software Developer

Even with a B.B.A in Computer Information Systems and over 21 years experiences in developing software, Beth is currently pursuing her M.A. in Organizational Change Leadership. At Webtecs, she works alongside clients to develop solutions that help to increase efficiency of their daily duties. Her favorite part is the challenge of problem solving and learning new technologies.

Beth is intensely passionate about animal rights and her three mostly grown children, two cats and one dog. Offline, Beth spends time outdoors hiking, camping, playing pickleball, and skiing. You may find her around West Michigan volunteering at the local SPCA or at a Women in Leadership conference.

Pete Wagner

Senior Software Developer

Pete has been at Webtecs since inception in 2004. He has been a Java developer for over 10 years.

Pete is passionate about refining his coding style with every new project and enjoys challenging himself to craft the most functionality with the least amount of code.

When he’s not writing software he enjoys running, hiking, backpacking, camping, and riding motorcycles.

Let’s make something together.

Have a project and looking for a web partner? We’re ready to roll up our sleeves and get nerdy.
